The Rate of Convergence of Euler Approximations for Solutions of Stochastic Differential Equations Driven by Fractional Brownian Motion
The paper focuses on discrete-type approximations of solutions to non-homogeneous stochastic differential equations (SDEs) involving fractional Brownian motion (fBm). We prove that the rate of convergence for Euler approximations of solutions of pathwise SDEs driven by fBm with Hurst index H > 1/2 can be estimated by O(δ) (δ is the diameter of partition). For discrete-time approximations of Sko...

We prove the existence of global entropy solutions in L∞ to the multidimensional Euler equations and Euler-Poisson equations for compressible isothermal fluids with spherically symmetric initial data that allows vacuum and ...
متن کاملNonlinear Finite Element Analysis of Bending of Straight Beams Using hp-Spectral Approximations
Displacement finite element models of various beam theories have been developed using traditional finite element interpolations (i.e., Hermite cubic or equi-spaced Lagrange functions). Various finite element models of beams differ from each other in the choice of the interpolation functions used for the transverse deflection w, total rotation φ and/or shear strain γxz, or in the integral form u...

متن کاملControl Volume Approximation of Degenerate Two Phase Porous Flows
Implicit Euler approximations of the equations governing the porous flow of two imiscible incompressible fluids are shown to be the Euler–Lagrange equations of a convex function. Tools from convex analysis are then used to develop robust fully discrete algorithms for their numerical approximation. Existence and uniqueness of solutions control volume approximations are established.
